New music is expected on April 26th

On April 26th, Taylor Swift fans are in for a special treat. The country-turned-pop-singer-songwriter sent fans into a frenzy Saturday night (Apr 13th) when a countdown appeared on her website to that date. It’s expected new music will drop that Friday, her first on Republic Records.

Fans can sign up to her mailing list at taylorswift.com or apriltwentysix.com to learn more as it becomes available. Fans are promised to receive a “first look at promotions, news and other awesome stuff.”

Republic Records even shared a gif on social media with the caption “” and a link to her website.

The singer also shared a heart shaped ring on her socials with “4.26” as the only caption.

Last fall, Swift signed a multi-album global agreement with Universal Music Group (UMG) with Republic Records serving as her label partner in the U.S. This is the first time then ten-time GRAMMY winner has been solely represented by a different label other than Big Machine Records (BMGL) in her decade super stardom. However, BMLG did create a long-term strategic alliance with Republic Records that first brought Swift into the UMG family.

Swift had been with Big Machine since 2006, but began seeking a new label home after he contract expired this year. Swift shared the news Instagram, outlining some the terms she said were must-haves in her contract.

Swift’s most recent album, Reputation, was the biggest selling album 2017 and No. 1 in over 111 countries on iTunes’ sales charts upon release. Swift’s chart-topping first single, “Look What You Made Me Do,” broke multiple records within hours its release. With over ten million streams, it was the most-streamed song in a one-day, the lyric video for “Look What You Made Me Do” broke the standing record with over 19 million views, while the music video shattered the original most viewed video (28 million) record with 43.2 million views in 24 hours.
