Evening to Feature 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards Telecast Viewing and Performance by Steven Tyler and The Loving Mary Band
Iconic singer, songwriter and humanitarian, Steven Tyler and Live Nation will present the inaugural Janie’s Fund gala and GRAMMY Awards viewing party on Sunday, January 28th at the historic RED Studios Hollywood. The exclusive event will include a star-studded red carpet, live viewing the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast, live auction, dinner and a musical performance.
Attendees will be treated to a multi-course dinner menu designed by GRAMMY Award-winning singer, best-selling cookbook author and lifestyle expert Trisha Yearwood. Following the dinner and telecast, Steven Tyler and his Nashville based band, Loving Mary, will take the stage for a can’t-miss special live performance to close out the night.
Co-chair supporters for the event include Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Andrea Bocelli, Bo Derek, Britney Spears, Sir Elton John, Jim Carrey, Joaquin Phoenix, Joe & Marjorie Walsh, Kate Hudson, Lionel Richie, Sharon Stone, Whoopi Goldberg, and Yoko Ono.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Janie’s Fund, a philanthropic initiative created by Tyler in partnership with the national family services nonprit Youth Villages to bring hope and healing to girls across America who have suffered the trauma abuse and neglect. Tyler first gave voice to this cause with his hit “Janie’s Got a Gun,” and his establishment the fund ensures that these vulnerable girls will have an enduring voice for years to come.
“The time has arrived to share what we’ve done and what we’re striving for. This inaugural gala is designed to bring my friends and family together so we can continue to provide uplifting and needed support for Janie’s Fund,” Tyler says in a press release. “This gala is more than a night out, it’s a break on through to the other side for these girls whose lives have been stunted. It’s an opportunity to learn the valuable work we will be doing to get them there. It’s time to bring the awareness out the darkness and into the light for these girls, for all to see.”
Since the November 2015 launch Janie’s Fund, the organization has raised more than $2.5 million, directly helping more than 525 girls and providing more than 66,000 days therapeutic care. On December 6th, Tyler celebrated the opening a new residential center named Janie’s House, a joint partnership with his philanthropic organization Janie’s Fund and Youth Villages. Janie’s House provides support to vulnerable young girls in the Atlanta Metro Area who are survivors abuse and neglect, and has residential accommodations for up to 30 girls annually with access to 24-hour medical care and therapeutic support.
“You can reach the heights your passion, go all across the entire world and meet people from all walks life, but the look on these girls’ faces when they know that they’ve found their safe haven, especially after being put through the pain abuse and neglect,” Tyler adds. “Now, they’re being taken care by the best the best in experiential therapy and 24/7 caregiving. Every five minutes, someone comes in and checks in on them and they love it, because they know someone is not coming in to abuse. This event is a testament to the important work happening at Janie’s House.”
