Rapper BossMan Yayo gets 7 years in prison for having gun in music video while being convicted felon

Up and coming rapper Bossman Yayo has been sentenced to 7 years in prison after he was caught with a gun in his music video while being a felon. Antonio Dondrell Bell, 29, of Grovetown, Ga., received 84 months in prison by U.S. District Court Chief Judge J. Randal Hall after pleading guilty to the possession charge.

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia Bobby L. Christine said, “Antonio Bell knew that as a convicted felon he is not allowed to carry firearms, yet he chose not only to violate the law but to brazenly glorify gun possession in his videos posted online,” adding, “Now, inside a prison, he might have a live audience – but he won’t be able to flash firearms in his performances.”

Back in 2018 BossMan Yayo was arrested for having a gun under his car seat a Ruger 9mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine. Authorities say that Bell flashed the gun on camera in several of his music videos. However, Bell admitted that his videos were all staged. He also told authorities he is a member of the 5-9 Brims which is a subset of the Bloods gang.
