Lil Data to launch anthology of live-coded tracks through PC Music

PC Music’s resident coder takes middle stage.

PC Music’s Lil Data is releasing a “four-disc” anthology of music created with the live-coding software program Tidal Cycles subsequent week.

Folder Dot Zip collects 5 years of labor by the PC Music artist, whose contributions to the label have been small however important, together with a spot on the legendary PC Music x DISown Radio mix in 2014 and the Sup EP the identical 12 months.

“Folder Dot Zip is the open journal of my musical course of as I redesigned it from scratch, and a love letter to the unapologetically bizarre and unerringly optimistic corners of the online that raised me,” Lil Data says in a press launch.

The 24-track anthology collects music from 2016’s Lil Tape launch, tracks launched throughout PC Music’s Month of Mayhem in 2017 a remix of MC BOING’s Dance Floor (a collaboration between MC BOING, Lil Data and Danny L Harle) and extra.

Folder Dot Zip is launched on February 15. The album shall be out there digitally and as a restricted version USB drive, “calcified with curiosities and file transfers from buddies made throughout this epic journey”.
