Kansas City Chief star Quarterback Patrick Mahomes under fire after tweets from 2013 show him defending George Zimmerman for killing Trayvon Martin

Patrick Mahomes is a flat out star in the NFL and even won last years MVP award. Mahomes is one the most popular players in the NFL and he is a black quarterback in a league where the position is normally dominated by White players. Well now a lot people are questioning Patrick’s blackness with some old tweets that have been dug up.

The tweets date back to 2013, with Mahomes responding to a person who wrote, “This case was an absolute horrible tragedy, however there was no criminal activity that occurred.” Mahomes responded by writing, “No one knows what actually happens which is why he is not guilty but a crime could have occurred.” Mahomes then followed up by writing, “Stop resisting or assaulting a cop.”

Mahomes’ assessment the situation happened nearly a year after Zimmerman fatally shot Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012. Zimmerman called 911 to report what he felt was suspicious behavior from Martin, and he was told not to follow the teen. However, Zimmerman ignored the instructions and followed Martin, later shooting him. On July 13, 2013, he was acquitted all charges.
