Cardi B & City Girls sued for Millions by Choppa for illegally sampling "Choppa Style"

It seems Cardi Band City Girls may have forgotten to pay the writer and producer “Choppa Style” which is the song they sampled for their hit “Twerk”. Famous music producer/writer Rico Luv wrote the song for the City Girls and Cardi B. Representatives from Choppa and the producer “Choppa Style” DJ JMK claim they have not been paid one penny since the song has been released.

JMK is saying he should have been compensated for the use his beat but never received any money despite people making big hits from the track. Some those people include Cardi B and City Girls, who used the track for their song “Twerk,” Yo Gotti, and more.

DJ JMK noted that all the rappers he named have “ misappropriated many the recognizable and key protected elements” the beat he made, and he is suing them for copyright infringement.
